Raise

Raise is a large-scale mixed-media installation that explores non-binary embodiment through the construction of a self-authored monstrous body. Spanning nearly thirty feet, the work combines pigmented abaca pulp with human and synthetic hair, latex, wool, silk, silkworm cocoons, and resin teeth. Drawing upon the abject and the visual language of body horror, Raise reclaims monstrosity as a source of agency rather than exclusion. Transformation is not presented as a completed passage from one identity to another, but as an ongoing process in which the body remains unstable, generative, and open to becoming.
